This is a panel led by/for trans voices to share their gender dreams and hormone experiences from puberty to adulthood, from dysphoria to euphoria, and everything that might fall between.

Join us for a discussion on access to care, changing bodies, shifting relationships, and understanding new ways to embrace ourselves.

Come as you are for Q + A mixed in with discussion.

This is an intersectional space for people of many race, class, gender, (dis)ability and (other) identities.

Although we’ll be centering trans voices, all genders and identities are welcome.

To pre-read more about gender affirming advocacy and autonomy, Google "1993 International Bill of Gender Rights" and "Informed Consent for Testosterone Therapy" to discuss.

Moderator: Maya (They/She)

Panelists:

  • Axel Valles (They/Them)

  • Adison Quin Petti (Hy/Hys/Hym)

  • Sterling (He/Him/His)

  • Javier Kennedy Gutierrez (He/Him/His)

Live Transcription will be turned on.

Everyone who registers will get access to a video replay of the event.

Please let us know in the registration form if you have any accessibility concerns or requests.

Meet the Panel

  • Sterling

Sterling is currently completing his Bachelor’s of Health Science at Thomas Jefferson University with a track to Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. With a rich history of organizing in radical left circles he seeks to weave anarchist ideology and practice into his work within the medical industrial complex in hopes of sowing seeds of resistance and equity. His mission is to be a comforting presence in rooms where folks like himself are often absent, to provide equitable and comprehensive care, and to highlight the ways in which health intersects with all aspects of the human experience.

  • Javier Kennedy Gutierrez

Javier is a certified Community Mental Health Worker and licensed phlebotomist who currently resides in San Francisco, California. He began his medical transition at age 29 in 2016 and as of August 2021, decided to end his journey with testosterone permanently. Beyond working in healthcare, Javier’s passion lies in creating art that turns the personal into the universal. His poems and short stories can be seen in publications such as Radar Productions’ Glow Queer Artist Feature and “INA: A QTBIPOC Erotic Anthology,” while his photographic series “SF Lockdown” is currently part of City College of San Francisco’s U.S. Queer Arts and Culture course. His present focus is creating a body of mixed media work that explores and embraces the idea of femininity and its place in the queer male Chicanx identity.

  • Adison Quin Petti

Adison holds a bachelor's degree in Feminist and Gender Studies and is a Master of Urban and Regional Planning candidate at CU Denver. Hy currently works as a Student Geospatial Consultant in the Facility for Advanced Spatial Technology making maps for the built environment and demographic analysis. Adison started testosterone at the age of 19 in 2008. That same year, hy co-founded the TransCampus Project and later the Colorado Springs Queer Collective which both seek to challenge racism, classism, ableism, and other oppressions within LGBTQ communities. Hys workshops build from a social justice framework to better understand and advocate for the experience of trans and other marginalized people within and outside of the medical, prison, and non-profit industrial complexes. Hy currently sits on the Council for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at CU Denver and is a board member for the Colorado-Wyoming-Montana State Conference of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
